It’s been a long journey since we released our very own core set, but we are now close to the finishing line. There are only seven artworks missing for cards of the core set to be art-complete. Later this week, we will talk about the next set, today we have a few changes to conclude the development of the core set.
Neutral
Miya Kogara: to strengthen the utility of this niche character, it now contributes to the dispute for the imperial favor even while bowed. This small buff fits the pattern of buying this character without fate for a boost for the next round.
Competing Interests: this event can now also be triggered due to unique attachments, opening the door for a few combos. Still a niche card, but with more area for exploration.
Crab
Chronicler of Calamities: this powerful character might have been elevated into the position of Pearl Champion as a result of a recent storyline tournament, but its oppressive potential when multiple copies hit the board goes beyond the line. Its ability is now capped at max 1 per conflit.
Yua, the Onibaba has her political skill increased to 2.
Zealous Exorcist: this character becomes a conflict character. A simple change, but with big ramifications in how the card is used.
Crane
Diligent Chaperone now has 3 military.
Dragon
Biting Steel: not a change, but a clarification. The bonus during duels combines both the military and political bonuses of the attached weapon.
Lion
A Matsu Proves Their Worth: To make this card better usable, it now costs 0.
Capture The False Eye: We removed the limitation to use it in military conflicts only, it now also works in political conflicts.
Matsu Nobuiko: You can now try to stop any action of your opponent, even when the action is not targeting the Lion.
All the changes will hit EmeraldDB and Jigoku over the next few hours.
With these changes, we believe that our core set is a solid product which will go into production as soon as the last piece of art is complete — also with many more flavor texts on the cards. Here are two new pieces of art for you, have a great day! And let us know what you think of these changes.
