One of the advantages of Emerald Legacy is that we can adjust the game more easily than a company, especially with sets that do not have a physical release yet, like our very first core set. Some of the cards seemed to be a bit over the top, others a bit too restricted, which is why we’re releasing the first patch to the cards of Emerald Core Set.
Crab
- Earth’s Stagnation: requires Shugenja
Crane
- House of Leaves: conflict phase only
- Kakita Rusumi: when defending, the cheated character comes into play honored only if Rusumi herself is honored
- Collector of Favors: the attached character gains courtesy, instead of the attachment. Courtier only.
- Asahina Envoy: cannot put cards on the stronghold’s province
- Diligent Chaperone: the effect cannot be used as cost substitution, only for protection
Dragon
- Tennyo’s Blessing: cannot put cards on the stronghold’s province
- Biting Steel: requires Shugenja, simplified Conflict Action
Lion
- Lancer of the 9th Legion: now works in military conflicts both when defending or attacking
- Young Beastmaster: discards 2 cards, gains bonus based on higher cost discarded
- Liaison to the Ancestors: triggered as a reaction, instead of being pre-activated. Can be used as cost substitution
- Declaration of Dominion: does not require 2 characters to trigger
Phoenix
- Earth’s Examination: requires a shugenja
- Asako Kousuke: status change is permanent
- Sanctified Earth: requires a shugenja, and the effect can be transferred to other characters
Unicorn
- Day of Brother Horse: max. 1 per round
Neutral
- Objection: new wording makes cost also increase during “cancel wars”
