Organized Play

The Test of the Coral Champion – Seattle Kotei

Featured image for a post about organized play. It reads "organized play" in the font of the Emerald Legacy.

We are very excited that we will have two in-person Kotei events this year, and the second one will be in the United States, in Seattle. It is amazing that the community and friendly stores / associations are willing to support us with those local events. Read on for all the details!

If you want to register for the Kotei right away, you can do so here. Please be aware that we are limited to 24 seats, so be quick to book your spot(s).

Battlefield Orders

We’re cooperating with Around the Table Game Pub for this Kotei, a huge thank you to Nick and his team!

  • Tournament Registration: Fill out this form  We are limited to 24 spots!
  • Tournament Organisation: t.b.a.
  • Food and Drinks: You can buy some drinks and snacks at the venue, and there are several food stores around. We’ll have a break after two rounds with enough time to get something to eat.
  • Hotels: You can stay at the Best Western Alderwood Hotel or the Hilton Garden INn Seattle / Lynnwood, which are close to public transit that will take you directly to the venue. They are also close to the mall and a large selection of restaurants including some that would be good for a clan dinner. They are also close to the light rail which has stops at the SeaTac Airport and downtown Seattle.

Gifts and Favours (and Blessings)

We will offer the same gifts and rewards at the Kotei in Seattle that we had in Nuremberg, and then some:

  • 29 cards participation prize (just for being part of this amazing event!)
  • Your clan champion(s) in our character promo frame as well as without any text box for full art glory
  • The best of each clan receives the title Hatamoto and a Hatamoto playmat
  • The top 3 of each clan receive their clan stronghold in full art
  • Around the Table Game Pub also promised to throw in some prizes on top! Thanks again, Nick!
Each playmat features an amazing piece of art from our Emerald Core Set, by Jose M. García, StumbleSeed, Kevin Sanborn, and Jescer Ramirez.

As the title of this post says, this tournament is the Test of the Coral Champion. You all are sent by your clans to battle for this title, yet only one may stand victorious. Thus, the winner of the tournament will receive two prizes. On the one hand, they will—together with our story lead—decide on a character who is supposed to be the new Coral Champion in our lore. On the other hand, they will receive a special version of the Writ of Sanctification, the writ issued by the Coral Champion.

You can also get one (or multiple!) of our gorgeous participation playmats, for an extra $35. The more people buy one, the cheaper it will get. For example, at 20 participation play mats, we’ll receive a discount of 40%! We can refund you the difference or donate the money to a charity, your choice!

We hope you like our efforts to keep the game alive and we’d love to see 24 samurai at the Kotei! If you have any questions, feel free to contact me (hidaamoro) or Chris (christhegm) on Discord. Chris will be our representation at the Kotei, organise it, and bring the loot.
